I seek to inspire multicultural women across the globe to embrace the lost art of etiquette and personal communication. Fueled by a creative vision, and appreciation for culture, history and refined tastes, I offer the tools and tips needed to make communication in a modern, fast-paced society more meaningful, memorable and stylish, and to reignite a greater sense of friendship and sisterhood through thoughtful, handwritten exchanges.
In 2009, I was inspired to marry my expertise and passion for design with my commitment to encouraging girls and women of all ages to reach their goals and live their dreams. As a young girl who struggled with low self-esteem, I know firsthand the power of true friendship, heartfelt communication and positive messaging and their role in empowering young women to overcome challenges and build self-confidence. Therefore, I quickly began working on an artful collection of stationery that emphasized these values and philosophies, and Benora Paper + Ink was soon born.
Benora Paper + Ink products are distinguished by their inspirational messages and illustrations of sisterhood and multicultural history and heritage. As the descendent of European, African and American Indian ancestors, I am passionate about my own cultural legacy, and champions diversity, inclusion and cultural pride. The collections unite and inspire women of color to share and celebrate their beauty, contributions and unique journeys and stories with the world. I create poignant, compelling and heartwarming images that remind women of color that they are special and valuable to society, and encourage them to reach out to each other, celebrate each other and strive to make a positive and indelible impression on the lives of others.
Benora Paper + Ink collection includes stationery and gifts ideal for every occasion, milestone and rite of passage, as well as eco-friendly products, and high-end designs featuring 100% cotton and textured paper. Additionally, as the art of writing thank you notes, apologies, congratulations, and sending invitations are the pillars of etiquette and social graces, I offer interactive etiquette workshops. The workshops, tailored for businesses, schools and social and nonprofit organizations, illustrate the important role etiquette plays in modern society, and provide instruction in decorum, protocol and professionalism. I often remind attendees that writing a thank you note is no less time consuming than writing an email, but will make a longer lasting impression. I also share these types of etiquette tips on my blog, Et-i-kit-ology.
